COVID AND PRACTICE LIFE

by | Feb 15, 2021

Well it has been a strange year for us all! Now approaching the anniversary of when we started to become affected by this pandemic, we are still here looking after eye health of our patients. We remained open the whole time-through Lockdown 1 as an emergency hub for a number of practices and now through this latest lockdown trying to provide the best possible care for our patients.

We have full PPE equipment here and of course hand sanitizers everywhere, as well as stringent cleaning regimes to keep everyone safe. We have invested also in a frame sanitising unit using UVC light –so any frames handled and tried can be sanitised after use. We have all been vaccinated as well as we are patient facing-which does give a feeling of safety at work. So practice life can go on and we are here to be able to look after any needs patients have-whether essential or just routine eye examinations-which we now make a longer appointment time to again take the precautions necessary to look after everyone. All patients are booked in and we have a door entry system now installed to regulate the numbers in the practice at any one time-but this also ensures we have everything ready for you on your arrival which has proved very effective. We can also have specific times when patients are able to come in and not wait at all in reception area-so just go straight to eye examination with one of our optometrists who still has full PPE when seeing them.

If you feel you have any need for eye care then do not hesitate to contact us –we can also do a certain amount through telephone triage if preferred!

Let us hope the numbers of vaccinations continues at a great pace that we can return to some form of confidence and normality very soon.

Please keep well and safe!
